Helen is one of the presenters of Radio 4's Making History, broadcast on Tuesdays at 3 pm.

Helen made her debut as a presenter for BBC Four in the summer of 2011 with a film entitled A RENAISSANCE EDUCATION: THE SCHOOLING OF SIR THOMAS MORE'S DAUGHTER.

She made three programmes based on her book SHE-WOLVES, with independent producer Matchlight, for the BBC. As SHE-WOLVES: ENGLAND'S EARLY QUEENS, they were broadcast on BBC Four and BBC Two in 2012. SHE-WOLVES was the only presenter-led history series to feature in the Radio Times critics' list of the Top 40 TV Shows of 2012. The series is now available to buy on DVD and iTunes.

A second series for BBC Four - MEDIEVAL LIVES: BIRTH, MARRIAGE, DEATH - was broadcast in October 2013. This exploration of the medieval experience of life's great rites of passage includes stories of the 15th-century Paston family, as told in Helen's book BLOOD & ROSES.

With Matchlight, Helen made a one-hour programme for BBC Two based on her new book JOAN OF ARC. It was broadcast in May 2015 - 'a wonder of straightforward storytelling', according to the Times.

'... the excellent Helen Castor, who has the knack of appearing in shot without making you wish she would go away ...'

Clive James, The Telegraph, January 2012
